These discussion questions are based on the sermon titled "Scattered Unity".
Here are some discussion questions that you can talk about with the people that are in your home with you. You can also call a friend who was watching and discuss it with them. Or you can break out a notebook and use these questions to journal your thoughts on the message. 1. Why does the Bible tell us to be born again and become like a Child if we are meant to grown? 2. What are differences between being together and being in unity? 3. How can people be united although apart? 4. How does God unite us with people of the past and future? 5. What are some similarities between the church and the human body? 6. What are things that hinders unity? 7. How can we get rid of the obstacles that prevent unity? 8. What are some ways that you can preach the word during this time? 9. Why do some people neglect to preach to people who are different than them? 10. What is the message that God is trying to give to you from this sermon? 11. How can you apply this message to your life? 12. What practical thing can you do today to get started? I like what you said. We tend to stay together when we have similarities. It called reference. When we don’t step out of our comfort zone, there’s nothing unpredictable about our life that will bring change in someone else. I decided to do two things different this year- 1. Not rush to explain the bible to people so they can come to a building call church 2. Meeting people who are strangers to God and meet them where they are.

Its trying to be safe. Imagine if God didn't take the risk of making us or if Jesus didn't take the risk of separating from the Father

We tend to see unity in church to be defined as breathing, acting, and practicing the same way. Generally, unity isn’t always to bear with mutual understanding with a friend, co-worker, or a spouse. In fact, I think it only brings boredom to a relationship to have one mind, one idea, one strategy, one sound. Unity is much more than that. If every time a wife disagrees with her husband and would not agree to disagree, the numbers of divorce would be much higher than it is now or the retention rate in the workplace would dramatically increase for a coworker who disagree with his/her boss. I for one like to disagree because it challenges me to be better in my understanding in different topics. It also shows that I can be myself with the people around me; expecting no judgement. Different doesn’t mean being rebellious, but it means that you’re unique- the way God intended you to be.

You know what's interesting about that... God said that His ways are not our way. His thoughts are not our thoughts. But yet we can still be one with Him. We don't see everything the way God sees it, but still God can unite with us if we trust in Him. Same thing with our church family.

Well said sis Michella, when agreements during family arguments can’t be reach , my father will say , let’s respect each other’s opinion with the saying , Let’s Agree to Disagree. We can apply this saying to bible preachers when disagreements occur among them on how where n when to preach the Bible bec of individual differences, BUT there’s MUST be NO disagreements on the correct interpretation of the scriptures when it’s being preached . In short everything could be disagreed but not the correct interpretation on the Bible .
