It’s the first time I am having a birthday when I have this website up and running. I started this site at in the beginning of the year. I started it so I can have a place to share messages and connect with people. There are a number of reasons I started this site. Little did I know that a pandemic would hit and I would need it all the more.

Technology is a tool that can either be used for God or Satan.
And while the war started in heaven it has continued down here on earth and it is raging all over the internet. How many websites contain things that lead people away from God, but how many people would never heard the message if it wasn't for these online platforms. Yesterday I called one of the pastors I work with in order to pray together for the series. I was convicted to pray specifically for the technological side of things. Anything can happen when you are streaming. Glitches, loss of signal, getting blocked, and trolls. I find it interesting that yesterday the live stream froze. Its a good thing it was already basically at the end of the program. It could just have been a technical difficulty, but I don't count out spiritual warfare. I got into a discussion on facebook about how long a service should be, because they were mentioning how short people’s attention spans are.
I have heard it said multiple times that youth sermons should be shorter. I took a class where they advocated 20 minute sermons when preaching for youth. Are people’s attention spans really that small? I don’t think so. Take a look at these statistics: This was a first for me.
While I made video content before, the idea of not going to a church building, but organizing something from home was definitely an experience. For those of you that like data, here are the results: No one could have predicted all this craziness that is happening right now.
This has been a crazy week. Non stop action
I just finished a sermon on Genesis 4-5, which is all about the beginning of human death.
Because it had so much information I decided to put the notes here. First time I read these genealogies I thought it was so boring. I wondered, why is this in the Bible? Now I know that it is filled with such rich meaning- showcasing the mortality of life, but yet the hope in the midst of it. Batman is NOT a superhero.
He is a ninja with a utility belt. You know how many fights he would lose if he didn’t have that belt? He may survive, but win? Yeah right. Certainly wouldn’t have become a household name with a billion dollar franchise I did not want to become a pastor.
People always said when I was a kid, “You’re going to become a pastor just like your dad.” That annoyed me so much. How uncreative is that- just do exactly what your dad does. I wanted to be my own person. Have my own identity. |
