Back when I was lay pastoring in Indiana, we had a video ministry where people came up with their own ideas based on topics given them.

Discussion Question:
Why is it that we try to hide our faults from God?

God knows our thoughts even before we act on them and because he loves us so much he is always ready to embrace us and to forgive us for all our wrongdoings so there is no need to hide our faults. I also think that Jenni did what Jesus would do, instead of shouting at Anthony she hugged him and told him that she loved him. Great example.

“Out of sight out of mind” seems a bit ruthless to say the least, but it resonates with me whenever I come across causing damage and wanting to hide it from God. I think we all have the mindset that if we forget or try not to think about it then God forgets too. I think It’s a way to show how much we are willing to make ourselves righteous in front of Him. We try showing how little blemish we have to admit ourselves and highlight the closeness we have with God not realizing how He first loved us before we love Him (1 John 4:10 and 4:19). After all, we are His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10). Even Pablo Picasso’s famous painting didn’t hide from imperfections. Those imperfections brought reasons in Picasso’s purpose in life.

Hiding our mistakes and flaws from God makes no sense. Trying to pretend like we didnt make a mistake is being dishonest with ourselves.
