Read Along:
Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”

38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

39 And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.

Prayerfully journal your thoughts on these questions:
Being that Jesus is God, why would Jesus need to pray?

Everyone in Capernaum was looking for Jesus, so why didn't He stay?

Apply the message:
How can I apply the message that I've learned from this reading to my life?

What practical thing can I do in the next 24 hours, in order to apply the message that I've learned?

As busy Jesus was in healing and casting out demons, He made the time to prayed to the Heavenly Father. Our Savior in human form needed strength and guidance from the Father. Also, as we learned that Jesus purpose was to preach the gospel of salvation.
I cherish my mornings because that's the time where I talked with God in my solitude while everyone is sleeping. While writing this commentary Ive realized that I've shorten my time with God in the early mornings because there are things that needed to be done within a time frame and as the lesson said, "to make time". Ive realized that I need to sleep earlier an get up earlier and have that quality time with God and along with that, is to speak the message of Jesus wherever I am. Thank you Jesus for who You are..

Being intentional is so important, because if one is not, then you can find yourself at the end of the day going to sleep and you haven't spent time with God. So, we have to be vigilant. Jesus was doing God's work, but yet that wasn't even an excuse to neglect personal time with the Father. I'm glad that you have been spending quality time with Lord.

I'm glad I came across this just now. I've been reading my morning and evening devotionals from EG White.
What fascinates me about Mark is how much Jesus found time to read in the early hours and spend time with His father and ours as well. I will make time just as Jesus does and also what He has taught us to do. Drawerme closer to God. I like that. The more I read, the more I fall in love with Him.

Jesus prayed to set an example for us. If Jesus who is God prayed, it tells us how important prayer is. When we pray, we connect with God more deeply.

Yes, connecting with God is so important. That will provide the power to live out the life that God has planned for us as we allow Him to live and do His thing.
