These discussion questions are based on the sermon titled "A Number That Must Never Be Forgotten".

Here are some discussion questions that you can talk about with the people that are in your home with you. You can also call a friend who was watching and discuss it with them. Or you can break out a notebook and use these questions to journal your thoughts on the message. Those who are at the church will discuss this after the message.

1.  Why is meaning attached to numbers?

2. Why is the number seven so important in the Bible?

3. How does death bring greater significance to a number?

4. How are people forgetting God today?

5. Lately what has your Sabbath experience been like?

6. What message did you personally take away from this sermon?

7. How can you apply this sermon to your life?

8. What practical thing can you do today to get started?

Sabbath in the last few weeks has been peaceful. I believe it has to do with the pandemic. Ever since we have been up and running like work, any special gatherings, and even starting a new projects of my own, I have noticed that I have been working on keeping my sabbath holy as well as contributing on myself and the community. My hope is that I can continue to stay committed to the word I promised God so I too can help others to do the same.

Being faithful to God isn't a saying, but an action.

4. How are people forgetting God today?
Today people are forgetting God due to a contemporary expression of concerns for moral life. A fair number of Christians have become fascinated with character formation and as a result they are less interested in adhering to a list of dos and don'ts than how habits and disciplines can shape a person's character so that we are exemplified by love, joy, peace, patience and so forth. This type of emphasis to me is on ones transformation. Here, it seems to me that God becomes a means to an end.
People are forgetting God because they are so busy attending to what they are passionate about that they have no time to spend with the Lord. Some have replaced God with their work/ business and we wonder why. There are days when people wake up and there is a reluctance to spend even 15 minutes in prayer because there is so many things to get done. Why is'nt prayer or spending time in the word not one of the absolutely necessary thing to do?
If people love God as they say they do, why is the love and desires of so much else actually shape our day and our hearts? We were once a people whose love were characterized by the presence of God, as if we walk and talk with him along life's narrow way as the hymn puts it. Today people are known more for their politics; their voting patterns; their ethical hypocrisy; their compromise with materialism; and a relentless activism to improve themselves.
It is hard to fins people today with a relationship with God that floods the heart and mins as it did the psalmists and so many others in the Bible and in our history. I could go on and on but I will stop here.

5. Lately, what has your Sabbath experience been like?
To be absolutely honest, my Sabbath experience has been above my expectation, in that it has been more peaceful, quiet and reflective. I find myself spending more time searching the scriptures in a way that I have not done before. In addition, I am having more conversation with friends and family members as it relates to preparing for the second coming of the Lord.
I also find that I am really enjoying this way of worship although I truly miss being together with my church brothers and sisters. However, it is a joy to be a part of my Sabbath School Class because it is vibrant and sets the tone for the rest of the day's activities. This method also allows me to participate with other churches after our divine service which I would not have been able to do had I not find myself in this situation. I pray that through this experience I will develop a much closer and deeper relationship with Christ.

5. Lately what has your Sabbath experience been like?
Lately, my Sabbath experience has been fellowship and worship-filled. As AY Leader, there are many moving parts. I am grateful for each full week that the Lord blesses me with. I love the Sabbath School lessons. And it is really great when I make connections from the Sabbath School lessons with my everyday life each week. I see the presence of Jesus in all those around me because I understand Jesus better through His Word and she the beauty in all his people. Sabbaths are great because I get to spend more time in the Word and sharing it with others. I am very excited about teaching Sabbath School next week:). I am going to invite three people or ask three people to please each invite one person.
