I'm short words, Paul says.."positive thinking" be mindful this life is temporary, the key point is to focus on the future, the prize. Psalm highlights, nothing is certain.
Is like going to college and working. Challenges left and right but the person continues because is focus on the degree and the outcome.

I like that analogy. That same level of determination that we have for our careers we can have for the kingdom of God.

Focus- defined as the center of interest and activity
Your sermon reinforces and reminds us that despite what is going on around us the center of our interest and activity is Jesus Christ
Practical things to do--
1- Be informed but limit time spent on the news
2-Sing a song of praise.- Break out into song often
throughout your day. Almost impossible to feel anxious , sad or defeated while singing. James 5:13
3-Keep moving- find new ways to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. While cleaning do reps or as my friend does she lifts her 2 year old instead of using weights.
4-Write a letter /card Most people would appreciate this “old fashioned” way of communicating. Think especially of the elderly or those you haven’t reached out to in awhile. Include bible verses and positive sayings
5- laugh find something to have a good hearty laugh about each day. Proverbs 17:22
Sending all a warm Christian embrace

Thank you Sis. Blanca. I think we should try all those things on a daily basis.

Oo, I love that. limit time on the news. yes.
When I'm in my car, I am singing with the song coming from my phone. haha
hmm. A letter. I have sent out physical letters before, but maybe sending a handwritten one may be a good idea. I gotta think about that. I know I have done that once before in another church.

3. Why is it important to focus on positive things?
It is important for us to focus on positive things because God is great and wonderful. Expressing gratitude is key. We wake up each day. We have access to God's Word that serves as “a lamp to our feet and a light to our path” (Psalm 119:105, NKJV). If we continue to read the Bible and claim and rely on God's promises, we will be overwhelmed with joy, peace and relaxation instead of anxiety and despair. It’s important to focus on the positive things because we have a lot to be thankful for.

4. What are some specific examples of good things to focus on?
Some specific examples of good things that I focus on are my family, friends, the younger generation, sharing my life experience with others, influencing the lives of children, teachers and people across the world through conversation and sharing and ALL by the grace of God.

I am thankful that I am employed and I have a place to live. Many families with young children are living in shelters or on the streets. I am thankful that I have access to technology and the internet; this helps me to remain connected to the world. I focus on the fact that my immediate family is heath and well. I pray and focus on these things daily.

I really like your choice of the word "overwhelmed". We normally are overwhelmed with work and problems, but imagine being overwhelmed with joy. Jesus said that He wants our joy to be full.

5. How does one live to the Lord? Die daily to self. Allow God through His Word and Holy Spirit to guide your every decision. Let Him determine how you walk, talk, live or act.
6. How does one belong to the Lord even in death? When we die in the Lord we're only asleep until His second coming when He will resurrect us and take us home with Him.
7 What message did you personally take away from this sermon? If we are in the Lord, whether we live or die, we live or die in the Lord. So our main focus must be the Lord, not all our problems.

Nice. For me to live is Christ. Thats right. Die daily, which you described beautifully by saying the Holy Spirit guides our every decision. Somebody has been paying attention to my sermons in the past. :)
