These discussion questions are based on the sermon titled "Lockdown".

Here are some discussion questions that you can talk about with the people that are in your home with you. You can also call a friend who was watching and discuss it with them. Or you can break out a notebook and use these questions to journal your thoughts on the message.

1. How can bad circumstances help people that God is trying to save?

2. Why is it that when people don’t like a message they take it out on the messenger?

3. Why does God get angry?

4. Why do people hesitate to call on God during hard times?

5. Why doesn’t God just take the righteous to heaven right now?

6. How can you be a witness even when I am restricted physically?

7 What message did you personally take away from this sermon?

8 How can you apply this sermon to your life?

9 What practical thing can you do today to get started?

Feel free to share a summary of your answers in the comment section below:

Questions 2-4 I think are very thought provoking.
2-Perhaps in our sinful condition, since the fall of Adam, man puts the "blame" on someone. So we blame the messenger, not ourselves for our sinful behavior.
3-He gets angry when we disobey and do not have faith in Him.
4-Not sure. But I think because we are separated by sin we tend to "run and hide" like Adam in the garden.

I love how you brought it back to the garden of ede. We see the pattern there

5. Why doesn’t God just take the righteous to heaven right now?
Because many of us who think we are righteous will be lost. Some of us are still growing and need some time. Others are far from God right now, but God knows that one day we will come to Him. He is a God of opportunity, He loves us all and wants us all to be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 says "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

"He is a God of opportunity". Yes. Yes he is.
Unfortunately you are right. If He came now, many would be lost, but praise God that He is holding back the winds of strife and giving us time. Hopefully people are waking up to His calling

4. Why do people hesitate to call on God during hard times?

This question stands out to me. Sometimes people hesitate to call on God during hard times because they feel unworthy. Some might feel guilty for not putting God first when times weren't easy going (chill). When times get difficult the belief is that God might not respond. On the contrary, God says come as you are.
*God is awesome and forgiving and he is always waiting for us to call on him.

8 How can you apply this sermon to your life?

This question also stands out to me. I will apply this sermon by asking God to help me to always chose to be a minister of His message and not a prisoner of this sinful world. With God's help, I will begin on my journey to being a minister of God's Word by discussing the messages and Bible verses from this sermon with friends and family, today and thought this week.
