Games I recommend
Code Names
This word game is great when you don't want frantic shouting. Well some groups you can't help that. But unlike typical word games like taboo, you have to be more calculated with your clues. You give a one word clue and you say how many cards on a grid are associated with that clue, but you got to be careful that you don't mislead your team to select your opponents cards or worse, the assassin card. (2 Team game, but has a 2 and 3 player variant) |
DC Deck-Building Game
First deck building game I have ever played and this series still remains my favorite. You choose a hero in the justice league to play as. With your starting power you purchase other cards to build enough power to defeat the super-villains. With smart purchases you can really crush your opponents. (2-5 players) |
DC Deck-Building: Heroes Unite | Forever Evil | Teen Titans
These are the same game but with new heroes and cards. These can all be played as stand alone, but when you combine it with the others in this series the replicability really multiplies. So many combination opportunities. Very few games will be the same. Each box has new mechanics that are introduced that make it unique. (2-5 players) |
DC Deck-Building Expansion Packs: Crisis 1 | Crisis 2
This is NOT a stand alone game. It must be combined with one of the base games in this series. The unique thing about these expansions is that you can play either solo mode, cooperative mode, or competitive mode. The solo and cooperative modes have the interesting element of having to overcome "crisis" events, but its just too long. (My friend Harry made up a way to make it shorter) I much prefer to play the competitive mode. I only recommend getting these after you bought the other main games. (1-5 players) |
DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals - Batman Vs Joker
If you like DC Deck Building, then you will also like this game. Same mechanics but designed for a more enjoyable experience if there is just 2 players. While it can be combined as an expansion with the other DC Deck Building games, this can also be played as a stand alone. The best element is that it adds the confrontation mechanic, where you try to defeat your opponents main character in a series of rounds. It's designed to be competitive no matter your skill level. (2 players) |
